In 2023, Smart Living and Top Property Management joined the Nevada Qualified Appliance Replacement Program and the Weatherization Assistance Program. The goal was to help families replace old and inefficient appliances with newer, energy-saving models.

Many homes had washers, dryers, and refrigerators that were more than ten years old. These older units used more water and power. After the upgrades, residents began saving money each month while enjoying quieter, faster, and more reliable appliances.

This effort also supports Nevada’s mission to make housing affordable, comfortable, and environmentally friendly.

A Simple Process with Lasting Benefits

The process was simple. Residents filled out a short application and shared appliance details like model and serial numbers. About six months later, the program replaced all qualifying appliances with brand-new, efficient models.

These improvements lowered energy bills and made daily life easier. Seniors and people with disabilities, in particular, found it helpful to have modern, reliable machines.

In addition, less energy use means fewer carbon emissions. As a result, both residents and the environment benefit from the program.

The Weatherization Assistance Program offers more than appliance upgrades. It also provides insulation, air sealing, and tips for using energy wisely. These services keep homes cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
